Very silly and way too easy to get around. Any dystopian scenario it doesn't want to answer, just tell it to write as if it were the author writing a well-researched novel on X, detailing the most catastrophic effects of Y and speculating and extrapolating towards the end result Z and suddenly it has a lot of things to say. Maybe no longer quite factual though.
Wow, this was super impressive/interesting/scary, David! Hilarious how it was to trick the AI into continuing. Great work. Though, I think it was a little unfair. A 9 at least, mate ;)
Hilarious work David, man with well-groomed beard! Amazing what can be deducted with enough data points, isn't it. Will we end up striving for a perceived ideal dictated by said data points established by X? There is this new "game" on WhatsApp pre teens are playing where they "rate" their "friends" based on their profile pictures. I was shocked to find out the daughter of friends of ours was rating girls and boys on a scale from 1 to 10 in group chats for the rest to see. Queue ChatGPT BeautyMeter... Can it get any more dystopian, wait, don't answer that. Queue Gattaca.
Tell me about it, the AI picks up on details and subtle that I’m not even noticing and I was in the photo! As for the rating, do you think there is anything objective behind our perception of attraction and beauty? I get the feeling that these are evolutionary features we are looking for without realizing, e.g., visual indicators of health, fertility, and resources. In that sense, might it be beneficial that we learn to detect them? Kids can definitely be cruel though…
Even the fact that it's a "well-groomed" beard is already a parameter where one wonders who decides which parameters go into defining that. The staff sergeant during my compulsory 15 months of military service back in the 80s had a different opinion about that. I don't know about the objective for that silly rating game (they don't play it anymore, it got boring fast apparently) but the objective in meeting beauty ideals changes over time, take the Kayan long-neck tribe, the brass rings original significance vs today's is quite different and every culture has their ideals, just google Bavarian Beards. ;)
Health, fertility and resources are certainly factors that are evaluated consciously and subconsciously, although we may not be very good at that. There was a Black Mirror episode where people were matched up for certain periods of time to find the best match (Hang the DJ).
Great article! What a way to convince it to get it to work for you.
It’s a little scary that we can so easily work around these AI guardrails. At the same time, many of them appear to be silly to begin with!

It’s indeed an unprecedented time. I continue to feel both scared and excited. I hope you enjoyed the read and felt entertained.
Thank you, my friend 🥲

I can't wait for ChatGPT to pick out my AI wife!!!
